SEMESTER PROGRAMS
Life at the Northern Base Camp: The North Woods Stewardship Center (April)

As the snow melts away and the spring sun warms
the earth we change our focus from skiing to study and preparation for the trip south. The same snow that allowed us to travel over the mountains will feed the rivers that carry us home. But first there is exciting work to be done!

We make a semi permanent home from two large canvas wall tents.

We study the history and culture of the region through interviews, stories and observation.

We run, play, and jump in icy streams.

Vermont Semester Program
We build a 20-foot cedar and canvas canoe,
our craft for the journey home.

“The students say, living this way of life deepens their connection to the world around them.”
– Vermont Public radio.
