How to apply:
Kroka Expeditions Semester Programs do not have a registration deadline. We have rolling admissions for up to 14 students and once the program is full we will start a waiting list. Please make sure to follow the steps in the application process and to apply early in order to ensure your place in the semester. Please note that our semester programs are now experiencing full enrollment, with a waiting list, well in advance of the program start. If this is a priority in your life, we suggest that you begin the application process as early as possible in order to ensure a place in the program.
With our rolling admissions policy, we admit students in the order that applications are received and completed, without consideration of a family's financial situation. Students who have incomplete applications (for example: awaiting scholarship information, recommendations, or acceptance form) may lose their place in the program should other applicants complete applications and be awaiting decisions in the meantime. On rare occasions we reserve the right to give preference to some students over others based upon the needs of the group – for example to ensure the right combination of age, gender, and ability for a successful student community.
Here is a simple outline of the admissions process:
- Send in the completed application packet with a $100 application fee.
(See the “Checklist” on the bottom of the application form.)
- We will contact you for an interview. For students who live far away we will conduct a phone interview.
- If your interview is successful, you will be accepted into the program and Kroka Expeditions will send you the Acceptance Form.
- Your signed Acceptance Form and a deposit of $2,000 (applied to the tuition) will guarantee you a place in the program.
- If you need to apply for financial aid, you may request a financial aid application form after you have been accepted. Once we receive all the necessary financial aid documents the financial aid committee will process your request and adjust your contract accordingly.
- We may require applicants and accepted students to come to Kroka for a short pre-trip or a summer camp. The dates will be announced at least one month before the trip. Students living too far or in special circumstances will be granted an exception to this requirement.
